| Mauro Villanueva joined The
Joffrey Ballet as an apprentice in 2000 and was promoted to full company member
in 2002.Born and raised in Texas, he began his dance training in San
Antonio first with Shawn Knife and then with Buddy and Susan Trevino. He
attended The Joffrey’s San Antonio and Nutmeg Conservatory’s summer workshops
before finishing his studies at the Nutmeg Conservatory in Torrington,
Connecticut. Since joining The Joffrey, Mr.
Villanueva has performed in many ballets including Cinderella (Prince),
Confetti, Dark Elegies, Giselle The Green Table,
Laurencia Pas d’Action, Les Presages, Motown Suite, Les Noces, Romeo
and Juliet, Round of Angels, Square Dance, Suite Saint Saëns, Tensile
Involvement, Viva Vivaldi, and A Wedding Bouquet. |
