Current Faculty Russell Sultzbach

Russell Sultzbach is currently co-director (with Patti Watson Walsh) of The School of Performing Arts and Director of Ballet South. 
He is a native of Orlando and began his dance training with Edith and Bill Royal in order to be eligible for the local annual Nutcracker. 
Mr. Sultzbach was a student at the American Ballet Center and was chosen by Robert Joffrey for his company, The Joffrey Ballet, where he
worked for seven years.  He performed the principal roles in Rodeo by Agnes De Mille, Sir Fredrick Ashton's The Dream, The Green Table by Kurt Jooss, and Jerome Robbins Moves and New York Export Op-Jazz.

In 1981, Mr. Sultzbach returned to Florida to work as Ballet Master and choreographer for Southern Ballet Theatre, one of Orlando's
professional classical ballet companies, where he remained until 1993.  Now as Director of Ballet South he has built the company from
6 members to 25, and has choreographed an eclectic repertory for the Company which includes All-American, A Midsummer’s Nights Dream, Reflections, Valhalla, The Four Seasons, Swordsmen and the annual Nutcracker.
